If you are a new miner working in the coal industry, it's important to be aware of MSHA Part 46. This regulation, set by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), is designed to ensure the safety and health of miners like you.

Under Part 46, mine operators are required to provide new miners like you with a specific amount of training before you begin work. This training is designed to familiarize you with the hazards and risks associated with your work and to teach you how to work safely. The content of this training must be specific to the mine site and the tasks that you will be performing.

In addition to the initial training that is required for new miners, Part 46 also requires mine operators to provide ongoing training throughout your employment. This helps ensure that you stay up-to-date on the latest safety practices and procedures and are able to respond effectively to any changes in the work environment.

By complying with Part 46, mine operators can help protect your safety and health and reduce the risk of accidents and injuries in the coal industry. It's important to take this training seriously and make sure that you are fully prepared to work safely in the mines.
